MARMON ROOSEVELT
NEW 1930 EDITION IN U.S.A. Marmon announces in America the 1930 Marmon-Roosevelt, a completely new and larger edition of the car which for a year has held the unusual position of being the first and only straight-eight ever manufactured to be sold at a low figure. Mechanically the Marmon-Roose-velt represents a Marmon straighteight design that is the result of several years of development by Marmon engineers. It is powered by a T7-horse power engine built entirely in the Marmon factories and presents many new and interesting features of design, both in chassis and in exterior appearance. In redesigning the Marmon-Roose-velt particular attention has been paid to roominess. An idea of the interior size may be gained from the dimensions of the front and rear seats of the five-passenger sedan. Front seat width is 43 inches and rear 44J inches. Depth of front seat back is 27 inches. Respective dimensions of rear seat are 19 3-8 and 29 7-S inches. Its increased power is chiefly the result of refinements in carburetion and manifolding. An unusually heavy crankshaft is used and it is mounted on five interchangeable main bearings. Crankshaft is balanced statically and dynamically, no counter weights being used.
