“Dort.”—(a) Is the “Dort” car still produced, and if not what year was the last model produced, and can s] parts be obtained in Auckland? -(b) When does the new licence for a car start and the cost for a private car? (a) The last “Dort” was produced in 1922, and I doubt very much if it is now possible to get spares, unless from scrappings. (b) The annual licence fee is £2, and is due from the beginning of June. A.P. —Being a constant reader of your “S.S.S.” column, I would like to find out what causes the leak" of oil from my Essex 1928 model; it appears to be coming from the timing case. I have replaced new gaskets to timing case and sumps, and still the leak continues, but only when the engine is running. I would be pleased if you could advise me about it. Probably, this leak commenced after you had tightened the timing chain. If that is so, the gasket is not at fault and you should be able to stop the oil leak by slackening off the timing chain a little. When it is stretched too tightly, it drags the adjusting nut off its seat. After slackening, tighten holding bolts. W.P.R.—-Could you kindly advise me, through the "S.S.S.” column, if it is possible to obtain a material, other than glass, for a sun visor, which is

breaking frequently? I have the nickel frame left, and the 'glass broke again today. If it is possible. I would i>refer replacing the glass with something else; three-ply would not be suitable as it would be affected by the sun and ram, Ihanking you for the assistance.
