Patearoa, with an advantage in > weight and the inside running, led 1 Dobbin home at the close of a five 1 furlongs ,task in 1.4 3-5. < Rule Britannia was in front of Gran Chaco at the end of a half-mile sprint ; in 55 The Best Sprint Paganelli, as expected, recorded the fastest gallop of the morning by running five furlongs in 1.2 1-5 with a light-weight up. The last half-mile took 50. Sir Limond jumped off at the sixfurlong post to pick up Masterton at the five and to run the full distance in 1.19. Masterton led into the straight, j but weakened to be beaten in the run home. Star Stranger (light boy up) ran six on the trial grass in 1.18. He maintained an even pace throughout, the first furlong taking 13, the two 26 and three 39. Cylinder finished a shade better than Don Quixote at the end of five furlongs on the trial grass in 1.3. Sunstead slipped over half a mile in 54 4-5 without being asked to extend himself. Airforce beat Potoaform over six on the plough in 1.18 4-5. Yesterday’s arrivals included Jefferd’s, Luke Wilson’s and Daly’s teams. A. Tinker rides Star Stranger. Daly has four representatives, but Sir Limond will be his only run- * ner tomorrow. R. E. Coveny will do the riding. Although no official scratchings have been received it is probable that Winlock will not start tomorrow. The condition of A. Hobson and G. Lamb, two hurdle horsemen now in hospital, shows little improvement. Neither ha's regained consciousness yet.
