FIVE CHARGES
EX-CONSTABLE IN DOCK AT CHRISTCHURCH ARRESTED IN AUCKLAND Press Assoriation CfiRISTCHURCH, Today. An ex-constable, Joseph Reginald Wilson, aged 24, who was arrested in Auckland, appeared before Mr. K. D. Mosley, S.M., to answer five charges of theft and one of breaking and entering. The offences, it is alleged, were committed while - "used was a constable, stationed at Christchurch. Wilson was remanded until Thurs day next and bail was refused. RESISTED ARREST Mr. A. T. Donnelly, who appeared for the prosecution, opposed bail and stated that when arrested at Auckland accused had given a lot of trouble. It had taken six men to put him in a cell. Accused, continued Mr. Donnelly, said he would not reach Christchurch. If bail were allowed there was a serious danger of the course of justice being interfered witln Mr. Hunter, for Wilson, said he did not think Mr. Donnelly had been correctly informed over the matter of the arrest of the accused. He was astonished and indignant at the charges made against him and at his arrest, which followed. Accused, however, made no attempt to run away and he had, in the heat of the moment, resisted arrest.
