CRASH INTO STREET
AIRPLANE FALLS SHORT OF LANDING SPACE SYDNEY PILOT SLIGHTLY HURT Reed. 9.5 a.m. - SYDNEY, Today. A Moth plane piloted by W. J. Powell crashed lu a street at Maroubra, wrecking the telephone and electric wires, and narrowly missing a motor-car. The engine had stalled and the machine had insufficient way on to reach a neighbouring space, where a safe landing might have been effected. \ The pilot, therefore, had to make the best of the street space offering. The plane was wrecked, but Powell was not seriously hurt. A linesman later clearing the wires touched a live one, and was taken to hospital badly burned.
