FAREWELL PARTY HAPPY FUNCTION AT PUKEKOHE MESSRS. TAYLOR HONOURED The residence of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. •Wright was recently the scene of a jolly social evening in honour of Messrs. J- and W. Taylor, who are leaving the Pukekohe West district. Songs were contributed by Mesdames Wright and 1,. Knight, Misses Malone (-), Cartwright, Messrs. Queen and R. J- Drake, and recitations by Master Donald Wright. During the evening Mr. Wright made a presentation to each of the guests of honour. ... Representatives of the Buckland, V-’aiuku. Mauku and Tuakau Croquet (’lubs attended the At Home given bv the Pukekohe Club on Wednesday. Progressive croquet was played. The winners in the morning were Mrs. A. C. Gill. A section; Mrs. Peach, B section; Mesdames Harvey and Blake being runners-up. The afternoon sanies were won by Mrs. McCrae and Airs. Wright. Air. C. Cooper and Airs. Butcher gaining the consolation prizes. In the third session the A grade was von by Mrs. McCrae, B grade by Airs. Shaw, and the consolations in the sections by Mesdames Ingpen and W. 11. Fowkes. Other competitions resulted: Break. Mrs. Wymcr: golf croquet. Airs. 0. Deed; spot croquet, Mrs. Dyer; long shot. Mrs. Shaw; drawing, Mrs. Prum. Guessing competitions were won by Mrs. D. Laurie and Mrs. Dyer. The staTs did a brisk business. Morning tea. luncheon and afternoon tea was provided by the members, the tables being decorated with asparagus fern, zinnias and galardias.
