MAKURA OFF RUN

DELAYED AT WELLINGTON BY ENGINE TROUBLE REPLACED BY MARAMA Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. The San Francisco mail steamer Makura was delayed in her arrival from Sydney today. Trouble developed in the engine-room last night and assistance was wirelessed for. The tug Toia was despatched this morning and helped the liner to port, arriving about nine o'clock. With the assistance of the tug Terawhiti the Makura was safely berthed at the wharf. The trouble is in the port engine and is serious enough to detain the vessel here for minor repairs. Her place in the San Francisco run will be taken by the Marama, due here tomorrow from Sydney. Temporary repairs to the Makura are to be effected here and she will return to Sydney on Friday, when complete repairs will be effected.
