MOVE IN THE STEAD CASE DECISION SHORTLY A move to introduce fresh evidence In support ot the detente of Gerald L. Stead, In resisting the action brought by his wife for the cancellation of an order against her for his maintenance at the rate of £5 weekly, was refused by Mr. Justice Ostler in the Supreme Court today. The actiou was heard over a week ago, his Honour reserving his decision, which, however, was further delayed by an. application by Mr. Mowbray, for Stead, for the admission of further evidence. When counsel announced this morning that the new testimony was in the nature of corroboration of the reason for unhappy differences between Mrs. Stead and Stead his Honour said lie did not propose to allow such testimony, and the defendant would have to abide by the decision to be given shortly.
