COW AND PIG MANURE
For light, dry soils, cow and pig manure is infinitely superior to that from the horse. It is true that cow manure is not so rich in plant food as horse manure, but that of the pig is richer, so that the ideal scheme is to employ a mixture of the two. Their action is slower and is therefore spread over a longer period. Most of the remarks made about horse manure apply with equal force to cow or pig manure.
