MOTHERS’ UNION

OPENING MEETING AT PAPATOETOE The large attendance at the first meeting of the session of the Papatoetoe branch of the Mothers’ Union included a number of new members. The Rev. T. IT. C. Partridge, who presided over the meeting, which was held in St. George’s Church Hall, Landscape Road. Papatoetoe, read the lesson, and Mrs. Partridge was at the organ. The afternoon was devoted to the business of the branch. The officers elected were as follow: —Mrs. T. H. C. Partridge, presiding associate; Mrs. Winskill, elected member, and Mrs. YV. Burrill, secretary. Mrs. F. H. Leonard, overseas correspondent, reported having received two interesting letters from members of the branch at Port Rush, County Antrim, North of Ireland. An enjoyable afternoon tea was provided by Mesdames Partridge and Burrill.
