ROXY AND EMPRESS

“PEACOCK ALLEY” Remarkable for its entertaining plot and the lavish nature of its presentation, “Peacock Alley,” the all-talking production now showing at both the Roxy and Empress Theatres, is proving one of the most popular pictures of the season. The story deals with the private lives of members of exclusive American society, Mae Murray in the principal role, playing the part of a wealthy hostess, much courted yet remaining aloof. In her portrayal Miss Murray is called upon to wear some gorgeous costumes, the brilliance of which is considerably heightened by the use of technicolour in many of the scenes. A feature of the production is the inclusion of some excellent musical selections. Miss Murray is supported by a well-selected cast. Supporting films are presented at both theatres.
