At the air tragedy Inquest into the death of the flying wireless operator, McGowan, Squadron-Leader Scriven 1 expressed the opinion that the accident was due to a bump when turning at too slow a speed, while the pilot. Grant was manoeuvring for a position to photograph the fall of the warship’s j shots. The plane was of an old type and obsolete for the exacting requirements of naval work, though it was perfectly 1 safe for ordinary flying.
