“LOOKING FOR TROUBLE”

DISTURBANCE IN BILLIARDS SALOON YOUNG MAN’S LAST CHANCE When Albert Edward Butler entered a Henderson billiards saloon trouble started. He took a cue from a player and broke it across his knee and then assaulted the proprietor. Butler, a young man, pleaded guilty at the Police Court this morning to committing mischief by wilfully damaging a billiards cue valued at 30s and belonging to Paul Greshak. He also admitted assaulting Greshak. Senior-Sergeant O’Grady remarked that Butler had been under the influence of liquor. He had assaulted the proprietor of the saloon, who was trying to persuade him to leave the place. Constable Rushton was of the opinion that his appearance before the court would be a lesson to Butler and he could safely be given another chance. His last appearance before the court had been nine or ten months ago, when He had been charged with disorderly conduct. Butler was fined £2 , in default seven days’ imprisonment. "This is your last chance,” declared Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M. "If you come up here again I will send you to gaol.”
