GERMANY FACES GRAVE TRADE TROUBLES STEELWORKERS’ WAGES CUT Reed. 1.10 p.m. BERLIN", Thursday. Germany’s workpeople have taken seriously to heart the spectre of unemployment. The total idle Is now 3,000,000. The great Becker steel works are faced either with reducing the cost of production or of closing down. The workers approached the directors and suggested a 15 per cent, cut in wages, which would mean a saving of £60,000 on the yearly wage bill of £400,000.
