PICNIC MEETING AT TE PUKE From Our Own Correspondent TE PUKE, Wednesday. The Paengavoa-Te Puke annual race meting was held today. There was a good attendance, and weather conditions were perfect. The cup was presented by the president. Mr. Innes Vercoe. to the owner of Waitekohe, Mr. A. Mark, while he also presented the bracelet to Mrs. Sullivan, the owner of Iviwinui. The following - are the results: Maiden Race, weight-for-age; 6 fur.— Kiwinur 8.11, Anderson, 1: Bolton Abbev, 0, McTavish, 2; Winter Boy, 9.0, Bui leu. o. The winner led the held and won easily. Time, 1.17. Shorts Handicap, 6 fur.—The Jaek Jumper, 5.2, Forbes, 1: High Tide. S.lO, Gilmour, 2: Index. 7.9, Turner, 3. Won by a length, two lengths between second anc third. Time, 1.16 4-5. BAY OF PLENTY CUP WAITEKOHE, 9.2, McTavish - TOKAROA, 8.12, Anderson ; OTAN GIHAKU, 8.0, Forbes ‘ The winner was trained and owned b: A. Mark. The winner nearly came down at the four-furlong post, and lost ground The race was won by a head, with a heac separating second and third. Time, 2.13 Railway Handicap. 7 fur. —Tokaroa. 8.6 !
