REFORM PARTY WORK IN SOUTH ISLAND HON. J. G. COATES RETURNS Afi or 12 days' tour of the South Island, where he addressed numerous enthusiastic meetings of Reform Party supporters, the leader of the Opposition, the Kt. Hen. J. G. Coates, returned to Auckland yesterday. Mr. Coates, who made the southern trip at the instance of various executives of the party, was gratified with the soundness of the movement there. The reception given to the party’s programme in Christchurch particularly pleased him and a strong organising commit* tee was set up there. As a result of the meetings similar committees were appointed in other South Island Mr.' Coates left for Dargaville this morning and intends spending a few days ;w Piahia. Although his further programme has not yet been arranged. Air. Coates will be engaged in addressing meetings in the North betv en March 29 and April 1.
