CONSIDERATION WANTED At the meeting of the council of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce this mor, rung the following resolution was “Tuat this chamber is of opinion that the second report of the Unemployment Committee is generally on sound lines so long as the principle of ‘no work no pay’ is observed: but urges immediate consideration of the problem of unemployment that is likelv to be prevalent during the coming winter, particularly in the direction of developing waste and partially developed lands under the provisions of Part 11. of the Land Laws Amendment Act. or in any other direction of productive effort.”
