A. de la Perrelle, Minister of Internal Affairs, reports have been received by the Government that psittacosis is primarily of disease of parrots and allied species, but it also affects smaller birds, and acting on the advice of the Health Department, it has been decided not to issue any further authorities for the importation of birds for 12 months, when the matter will be again reviewed.
