i AUCTIONEERS’ REPORTS Stock auctioneers report as follow: — \ The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile; Agency Company, Limited, reports:— Sales were held during the past week at Westfield, Warkworth and Waiulcu (pigs). Values for all classes of cattle and pigs were steady, at late rates. We quote: Dairy cows and heifers, close to profit, best £ll to £l4 10s, others £8 10s to £lO 10s; backward springers,- £6 to £0 15s; aged cows and inferior heifers, £2 35s to £5 15s; bulls, £3 10s to £9 10s, according to weight and quality; store and boner cows, £3 to £6 10s; weaner calves, heifers, £1 10s to £3 17s 6d; weaner steers, £2 to £4 ss; heifers, suitable for dairy purposes, £4 10s to £6 17s 6d; yearling to IS-month, steers, £5 to £0 15s; 2 to 21-year steers, £7 to £8 10s; three to 31-year steers, £S 12s 6d to £9 17s 6d; grown steers in forward condition, £lO to £lO 15s. Alfred Buckland and Sons, Limited, report:—During the week we held cattle sales at Westfield, Pukekohe, Turua, Clevedon, Kirikopuni, Pokeno, Helensville, and Runciman, also pig sales at Waiuku and Pukekohe. There was a i heavy yarding of cattle at Pukekohe and : average entries at other centres. Pigs were penned in large numbers both at Pukekohe and Waiuku. Fat cattle are lower in value. Grown steers are also slightly easier. Pigs of all classes are meeting with a strong sale and values are very firm. Best dairy cows made £ll to £ls 3 0s: second grade cows, £8 to £lO 15s; aged and inferior, £4 to £7 37s 6d; springing heifers, best £lO to £l3, others £5 10s to £9 15s; empty young cows and heifers £4 to £5 15s; boner and store cows, £2 to _£s 15s; heavy prime young cows and heifers, £S to £lO 15s; lighter fat cows and heifers, £S to £7 17s 6d; fat steers, £ll 10s to £l3 17s 6d; cows with calves, £7 to £l2 ss; grown steers in forward condition, £lO 5s to £ll 4s; three to four and a-lialf-year-old steerS, £8 10s to £3O ss; two to three-year-old steers, £7 10s to £S 10s; yearling to two-year-old steers, £5 10s to £7 3 0s; weaner steer calves, best £4 5s to £4 16s, other steer calves £3 to £4; weaner heifer calves, £2 30s to £4. ss; IS-month-old, in-calf dairy heifers, £4 10s to £lO 10s, according to quality; heavy bulls, £7 to £lO 10s; sound youngherd bulls, £5 5s to £9; other bulls, £2 to £5.
