AUSTRALIA HELPS TRADE AND CUTS COSTS - BiG SALARIES TO DROP Reed. 11.5 a.m. CANBERRA, Today. It is rumoured that the new Federal Customs schedule will prohibit the importation of timber in any shape but squared or round logs. A message from Sydney says the New South Wales Cabinet is considering a scheme of retrenchment, which will mean a saving of £1,250,000, and involve a reduction in the salaries of Ministers and public servants’ salaries.
