M t. Will Appleton arrived in Auckland by the Limited express this mcrning. The Hon. E. W. Alison. M.L.C., was a passenger to Auckland by the express this morning:. The Minister of Industries *nd Commerce, the Hon. J. 13. Donald, has returned to Wellington from Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. A. 13. Williamson, of Vancouver, arrived from the South Island by the Limited express today. The Director of Education, Mr. T. B. Strong, has returned to Wellington, after an extended visit of inspection to the native schools in the Xorth Auckland district. Mr. J. W. Williamson. Mayor of Takapun . and Mrs. Williamson returned by the Limited express today from Invercargill, where they have been attending the Municipal Conference. Mr J. B. Hopper, formerly of Wellington, who has completed 3 2 months’ service in the Audit Department at Samoa, returned bj the Tofua yesterday He was accompanied by his wife. Mr. S. A. Cheney, chairman of directors of Cheneys (Australia), Ltd., motor distrib itors, arrived in Auckland by the Ulimaroa from Sydney yesterday, and is staying at the Grand Hotel. The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, Leader of the Opposition and Mrs. Coates arrived in Auckland from the South this morning and are staying at the Grand Hotel. Later they will proceed to Dargaville. Miss Jennie Street, field secretary of the National Christian Endeavour Union of Great. Britain, who has been touring New Zealand in the interests of the organisation for the past year, will be entertained at a meeting in the Baptist Tabernacle, this evening, when many iriends will bid her farewell.
