MAJESTIC
“THE BATTLE OF PARIS” The final screening will be given this evening of the current programme at the Majestic Theatre, a programme which includes “Her Private Life,” a talkie drama starring Billie Dove, also a number of shorter itenfs and music. “The Battle of Paris,” the all-talking and singing Paramount production, which is coming to the Majestic for a season commencing tomorrow, is a tale of three modern musketeers, an Englishman, a Frenchman and an American, who were resting in a French hospital. Georgie, a nurse, was more than kind to them. When her lover, on leave, fa.iled to put in an appearance, the three friends decided to put on a party to help Georgie forget. In a crowded restaurant in Par-is is staged one of the gayest festivals of song and music that that city of bright lights ever heard. Her lover comes back, but only after Georgie has been kidnapped. This is a part of the story of this picture, which is starring Gertrude Lawrence, famous English actress, and Charles Ruggles. The him is a picturlsation of the gayer side of the orld War. There will be a good selection of supporting films in addition.
