GERMAN GOVERNOR'S WIFE A CONFESSED THIEF
Reed. 10.45 a.m. BERLIN, Monday. A SENSATION in society offiM cial circles followed the confession of Frau Momm, the aristocratic wife of the Governor of Potsdam, that she was responsible for a series of thefts of silverware and cash from the Governor’s official residence. Suspicions were aroused when Frau’s story of a visit cf masked bandits was found to contain discrepancies. Later she confessed to her husband. who informed the police and submitted his own resignation. His wife stated she took money to pay big drapery bills.
