END OF DIAMOND LAWSUIT WITNESS’S ORDEAL Reed. Noon. LONDON, Monday The huge South African diamond lawsuit has been settled after 11 days’ hearing. One of the plaintiffs, Victor Coen, underwent nine days' uncompleted cross-examination. It was merely stated today that the plaintiffs withdrew the charges of fraud and conspiracy, but Mr. Coen said later that the plaintiff company receives £325,000 and costs amounting to £25,000. Coen, who is managing director of the plaintiff company answered 6,398 questions while in the witness box. Two years were occupied in preparation of the suit and costs already totalled £65,000.
