SUPER LAND TAX APPEALS

COMMISSION AT WORK From Our Resident Reporter WELLINGTON. Today. The commission appointed by the Government to investigate claims of hardship arising out of the -super-land-tax regulations has; almost completed the first part of its work, the classification and study of the written applications for relief received from landowners. Next -week it is expected that the commission will begin hearing oral evidence, first at Napier, then at Wanganui and Palmerston North. It is probable that the North Island will be covered in about a month and the commission will then sit for a fortnight in Christchurch. Altogether 577 applications for relief were received and about 75 per cent, have been dealt with.
