From Our Oven Correspondent TE AWAMUTU, Today. The cricket match betwen Paterangi and Te Awamutu created some interest, the latter winning a well contested game. Te Awamutu, scored 168, of which Philp contributed 53, Smith 27, Blundell IG, Rusden 11, and Thomson 11. Paterangi knocked up 136, C. Farr being top scorer with 56, P. Bourne 14, Beechy 15, and Rayrpond 13 being the next highest scorers. The game between High School and Kaipaki teams proved an easy victory for the former, the scores being: High School, 160: Kaipaki, 36. McMahon scored 51 for High School, when he retired.
