MATCH IN MELBOURNE MELBOURNE, Sunday. In a golf match at the Victoria links yesterday Walter Hagen defeated J. H. Kirkwood over 36 boles by 2 up. Kirkwood was 2 up after the morning round, but Hagen made a brilliant recovery over the last nine holes. Hagen was seldom off the line in the afternoon. He made many magnificent approaches and holed some beautiful long putts. His figures for th© afternoon were: Out, 37; in. 33. Kirkwood’s second round score was: Out, 39: in : 37.
