UNUSUAL LICENCE ON SERVICE-CAR DRIVER IN COURT From Our Own Correspondent OTAHUHU, Today. Tv. T. Brady was charged in the Otahuhu Court this morning with using demonstration number-plates on a service car while carrying passengers. Inspector Barrett said the car travelled from Auckland to Hamilton, and returned the same evening, carrying passengers who had paid fares. Witness said the passengers did not deny paying their fares when questioned by him. When spoken to. the driver only said: “Good Lord, we won’t be able to live soon.” Counsel for Brady said he was not owner of the car, but was a demonstrator employed by a motor firm. In advising that decision would be reserved, Mr. Levien, S.M., said as soon a 3 paying passenger steps into a bus. it loses its demonstration status. Brady denied any knowledge of the passengers paying fares He picked them up at the Aard office, at Hamilton, he said.
