DEAD BENEATH LORRY
MAN’S BODY FOUND AT ROADSIDE ACCIDENT NEAR WELLSFORD Lying beneath his overturned motorlorry, Mr. Louis Ramsbottom, a carrier employed by the Public Works Department on the highway works at Topuni, was found dead on the side of the main highway between Warkworth and Wellsford shortly after seven o’clock last evening. It is not known how the Occident occurred. A motorist driving between Warkworth and Wellsford passed the vehicle about a mile south of Wellsford, but gave it no attention as there was no sign of anyone about. Passing two workmen further along the road, he informed them of the overturned lorry and upon investigating they discovered Mr. Ramsbottom’s body beneath* the lorry. Mr. Ramsbottom was a married man, between 45 and 50, and the father of four childi'en. It is believed that he had been to Warkworth for the weekend and was returning to begin work on Monday. He was well known in the district, as he was a member of one of the original settler families.
