The gate takings at Wednesday’s Morrinsville Show totalled £129. which is about £24 more than the receipts from the previous show
Results of weight-judging contest at the show were as follow:

The Auckland Education Board has authorised a grant for extensions to the Kereone school. At present the attendance is so great that some of the children have to be accommodated in the hall.
An alleged game of chance, known as “spinning arrow,” was seized by the polieo at the Morrinsville Show on Wednesday morning, and it is understood that the showman in charge will bo prosecuted at the next sitting ol‘ the Magistrate’s Court.
A Maori, Charles Tuatara, was charged in the Morrinsville Police Court on Thursday before Messrs. W. Morrice and W. T. Osborne. J.P.’s with drunkenness and committing ar indecent act. He was convicted anc discharged for drunkenness and fineL £3 on the other charge.
The Minister of Transport has approved of the white-hand motor direction indicator invented by Mr. F. Page of Morrinsville. This device provides for signalling left and half-left, right and half-right turns, and ahead movements. At night the hand is illumin - ated and an amber light at the back of the car warns those following of the intention of the driver.
On the motion of the Mayor, the Morrinsville Borough Council decided last evening to grant the retiring town clerk, Mr. C. U. McKay, a bonus of £23 in appreciation of his services to the borough during the nine years he has held the position. The new town clerk of Morrinsville. ■a Mr. A. G. Struhan. takes over his duties Hk on Monday, March. 24.
