PERSONAL. —Captain C. Caldicutt is now in command of the Parera, in place of Captain G. A. Nairn. Mr. J. Fobister has been appointed second engineer on the Parera in place of Mr. G. Palmer. Mr. A. H. Fisk has been appointed chief mate on the Arahura. Mr. S. P. Martin is at present master on the Ivaitoa. Mr. A. McArthur replaces Mr. D. Kerr i as chief engineer on the Calm. Mr. W. D. Drake has been appointed first mate on the Itegulus in place of Mr. It. J. Powell. MATAKANA DUE 2.30 P.M.—Due in port from Gisborne at 2.30 o’clock this afternoon, the Shaw, Savill steamer Matakana is to berth at Central Wharf to continue her loading - for London. Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow. The vessel is later to be dispatched for Wellington and Lyttelton to complete, and is scheduled to clear Lyttelton on her Homeward voyage on March 29. L. D. Nathan and Co., is her local agent.
THE CITY OF LINCOLN.—The A. and A. Line’s chartered steamer City of Lincoln, which was scheduled to reach Auckland from New York next Wednesday. cast a propeller blade last Mondav and will not arrive until March 25. Wireless advice to this effect has been received by the local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company. The vessel has general merchandise for discharge at Auckland. Wellington. Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin and Wanganui. WAIPIATA HAS KATOA’S CARGO.— After loading at South Island ports, the w aipiata left Lyttelton yesterday, and is to clear Wellington for Auckland today. Ihe Katoa was originally scheduled to load at South Island ports for Auckland, but the itinerary was changed, and she was despatched from Dunedin to Westport instead. The "Waipiata is bringing general cargo, which was to have been forwarded by the Katoa, and consequently some of the Wainiata’s cargo will be per Katoa’s bills of lading. CORINTHIC DUE TONIGHT.—The White Star liner Corinthic is due in the stream from London and Southampton at midnight tonight, according to her wireless advice. The vessel, which has passengers and mails for New Zealand and general cargo for unloading at Auck-
land and Wellington, is to berth at Princes Wharf at about 9 o’clock tomorrow morning. Her local agent. L. D. Nathan and Co., expects to dispatch her toward the end of next week for Wellington to complete discharge. m. perienced four days of strong westerly gales, with heavy seas and swell. She arrived at Colon on February ID and cleared Balboa the following day. Keir; chief steward, Mr. H. Stewart. After completing discharge here under the agency of A. S. Paterson and Company, Limited, the Pakeha is to proceed to New Plymouth. Xapier. ‘Wellington and Auckland to load for the homeward voyage. She is to leave here finally on April 15 for Rotteddam, Hamburg and London.
THE KAIMIRO.—The Union Company s Naimiro. en route from Australian ports, cleared Lyttelton at 9 p.m. yesterday for Auckland direct. On arrival here she is to berth at Queen's Wharf, and after completion of discharge is to sail for Portland. TOFUA FROM ISLANDS.—The Union C mpa y’s Island pass - ‘ Tofua is due in port early on Monday afternoon from Suva, with passengers, mails and cargo from Fiji, Tonga, and Samoa. On arrival she is to berth at Queen’s "Wharf. RADIO FROM SINNINGTON COURT. The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company has received a radio message from the steamer Sinnington Court, inward bound from Antwerp with a full cargo of basic slag for discharge at this port, stating that she expects to reach Auckland on March 23. Her movements following discharge have not yet been announced. PORT CAROLINE COMlNG.—Heather Roberton and Co. advise that the Commonwealth and Dominion Line vessel Port Caroline, cleared Launceston at 11 a.m. yesterday for Auckland. Due here on Wednesday morning, she is to start loading for London, and later proceeds to Gisborne. Waikokopu, Napier, and Wellington to continue filling up. The Port Caroline is scheduled to leave Wellington on April 6 for London, via Panama. ARRIVALS TODAY NGAPUHI (.7.30 a.m.), 703 tons, Bark, from New Plymouth. HAUTURU left Onehunga at 5.15 p.m. yesterday for Hokianga, and is due aack on Sunday afternoon. She is to leave for Raglan. Kawhia and Waikato Heads at 4 p.m. on Mondav. NGAPUHI arrived from New Plymouth this morning, and makes the return trip on Monday at 4 p.m. HOKIANGA is expected back from Hokianga this week-end and sails again for that port on Thursday next l .
