RAINBOW WEDDING
VEIL OF BRUSSELS NET GATE—JONES The pretty rainbow wedding was celebrated at the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary, Hamilton, on February 26 of Irene, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Jones, of “Avoca," Victoria Street, Hamilton, and Aaron Hope, fifth son of Mr. and the late Mrs. Gate, of Frankton. The Rev. Father Breakley, P.P., was the officiating clergyman and the wedding music was played by Miss Marie iDola. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, wearing a pretty frock of white celanese satin fashioned with a close-fitting bodice trimmed with silk net and pearls, and the skirt was finishtid with small frills and pearls forming an uneven hemline, tier embroidered Brussels net veil was arranged with a coronet of orange blossoms and fell to form a train. She carried a shower bouquet of roses, carnations and maidenhair fern. The three bridesmaids in attendance were Misses Adeline, Lily and Ron a Jones, sisters of the bride, who wore Early Victorian frocks in shades of blue, pink and mauve respectively, with tight-fitting satin bodices and skirts of silk net. frilled from the waist to the uneven hemlines and finished with a large tulle bow. They wore laco straw hats trimmed with georgette and ribbon velvet to tone, and carried posies of flowers in rainbow hues. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Arthur Graves as best man and Mr. Allan Jones, brother of the bride, as groomsman. After the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Jones, parents of the bride, entertained a number of guests at the Centrewav Tearooms. Mrs. Jones wore a frock of navy silk lace over beige georgette.
