i JOLLY SANDRINGHAM PARTY On Thursday evening the Sandringham Presbyterian Manse was the scene of a farewell social given by the Rev. W. and Mrs. Gilmour in honour of Mr. Bert Skeels, who Is leaving shortly on a world tour with the Westminster Glee Singers. The evening was spent in competitions and games, while musical items were contributed by Mrs. lan Stuart, Miss I). Hynes, Messrs. H. Harvey, L. Stuart and Bert Skeels. Mrs. i Harvey and Mr. Eric Maxwell acted as I accompanists. A
During the evening Air. Skeels was the recipient of a useful present and replied suitably to the valedictory speeches. The evening was brought to a close with the singing of •“Auld Lang Syne.” ROTORUA DANCE • FOR GYMNASIUM FUNDS The Rotorua Gymnasium Club, which was recently formed under the guidance, of the Rotorua Rotary Club, held an enjoyable dance in the Alajestic Ballroom on Wednesday evening, and resulted in a good sum of money for the maintenance of the gymnasium apparatus. Aliss K. Kingon. secretary of the club* was assisted by an energetic committee which comprised Alisses L. Bragg, Iv. Carnachan. Alessrs. N. Steele, A. Dodson and A, Sinclair. Air. J. Spencer was AI.C. The Alonte Carlo dance was won by Aliss Whakane and Air. Rapone. The music was supplied by the Alelody Boys.
