PEASANTS COMMEMORATE A GREAT POET.—The centenary celebrations in honour of the distinguished French poet, Mistral, were held recently at Barjols in France. One of the old customs brought to life for the occasion was the roasting of an ox, whole. Photograph shows the ceremony with the peasants dancing in a circle round their tasty meal.
