DUNEDIN DISAPPOINTMENT BUYERS SELL FREELY Press Association DUNEDIN, Friday. The third wool sale took place today, when approximately 23,000 baTes were offered. Competition was keen up to a point, and seemed to be well distributed among Bradford and Continental buyers, while local mills were bidding for isolated lots suitable to their quirements. Compared with the last Dunedin sale, super halfbreds can be quoted at 15d to 2d a lb. lower, average to good halfbreds Id lower, crossbreds id lower, while pieces an<; bellies were firm at practically unchanged prices. The demand for Merinos was disap pointing, and these were Id a lb low-: An occasional extra super lot met wit good competition from the local mill: Growers generally sold freely, an passings would probably not excel i 0 per cent. The following is the official range e prices:— Merino, 64/70, 60/64: Extra supei to 13id; super, 93d to lid; averag B}d to 95. d; inferior, 7d to Bd. Fine lialfbred, 58, 56/58, 56: Extr super, 144 d; super, lOd to 12d; averag Sid to 9id; inferior, 7d to Bd. Medium halfbred. 50/46, 50: Extr super, 12id; super, lOd to llid; aver age, 8d to 9d ; inferior, 7d to Bd. Coarser halfbred, 48/50: Super, 9} to lOd; average, 8d to 83d; inferior 7d to Bd. Fine Crossbred. 46/48: Super, 9d to 9£d: average, 7id to Sid: inferior, 7d to 7id. „ , Medium crossbred. 44/46: Super, 8d to 83d; average, 73d to 72d; inferior. s|d to 6jd.
