KARACHI SHAKEN
PANIC-STRICKEN PEOPLE FLUNG FROM BEDS DAMAGE IN INDIAN CITY Reed. 10 a.m. DELHI, Friday. Severe earth tremors were experienced at Karachi early yesterday. People were flung from their beds and rushed panic-stricken from their homes. Heavy damage was done to buildings. Karachi is one of the principal seaports in British India, and the capital of the division of Sind. Under British enterprise it has grown commercially to be a. flourishing and important city, with a population of some hundreds of thousands.
