The special committee set up to ■arrange for a New Zealand team to compete at the Empire Games decided this week to allot the £I,OOO given by Panada toward defraying the expenses of a team to the assembling and equipment of a rowing eight It arrived fiT- this decision on the receipt of information from other sports that they considered that rowing should receivo fi rs t consideration this time on account of the disappointment which occurred at the last Olympic Games, "hen sufficient money was not forthcoming to send a crew. Officials of Too New Zealand Rowing Association state that an eight equal, if not better to anything else in the world can at Present be selected in New Zealand.
