CLUBS’ ANNUAL MEETINGS GRAMMAR OLD BOYS The annual meeting of the Grammar Old Boys’ Rugby Football Club last evening decided to give notice of motion that at the annual meeting of the delegates of the Auckland Rugby Union it would propose the following resolution:—“That in future only rules, as played by other unions in New Zealand, be played in all matches under the jurisdiction of the Auckland Rugby Union.” The balance sheet showed a surplus on the year's working - , but the committee pointed out that the funds would have been considerably increased if all members had met their obligations. It was decided to hold the first practices at the school grounds on March 29, and at the Ponsonby shed on April 2, in the evening. The following officers were elected: Patrons, Messrs. H. J. D. Mahon, F. Gamble and H. Littlejohn; president, Mr. O. Nicholson; vice-presidents, last year’s re-elected; honorary secretary, Mr. R. L. Farrell; honorary treasurer. Mr. W. Batty; assistant-secretary and treasurer. Mr. J. H. Gardiner; club captain, Mr. D. Wright; delegates to A.R.U.. Messrs. A. S. C. Belcher. S. Cleal and D. Wright; delegate to junior management board, f Mr. S. Conyngham; management committee, Messrs. S. Cleal, IX Bell, A. J. Billington, W. Frankham, P. E. Potter, A. E. F. Sanft and, ex officio, the club captain, the secretary, the treasurer, the assistantsecretary and treasurer, the delegate to A.R..U. if a member of management committee of the union, and delegate of the junior management board; selection committee, senior, Messrs. A. R. PI. Francis, W. Batty and D. Wright: junior, Messrs. E. Batty, F. Olsen and J. Scarborough; coach of senior team, Mr. A. R. H. Francis; honorary auditor. Mr. T. S. Miller.
The committee congratulated the following members on having gained A i cpresentative honours: —Messrs. L. Knight, A. Knight, W. Batty, I. Catlicart, M. Corner, IX Bell and C. Good“It is with profound regret,” the report continued, “that we refer to the death of one of our prominent senior players, Roy Schnauer. Roy was a fine player, a loyal club member, and was respected by all associated with him. His loss will be greatly felt by the club.” MARATHON CLUB The annual meeting of the Marathon Rugby Football Club was presided over by Mr. A. L. Bayliss, Mr. H. Frost, patron, congratulated the club on winning the senior grade B championship, and hoped the fine sporting spirit of the club would continue throughout the coming season. • The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr. IT. The annual meeting of the City Football Club was held on Wednesday evening and was well attended. The club decided on a change of colours, changing from maroon to white. Hinton: coach, Mr. H. Loudon. TE PUKE UNION From Our Oxon Correspondent TE PUKE, Today. There was a large attendance at the annual meeting of the Te Puke Rugby Union on Wednesday evening. Mr. J. T. Eccleton presided. The balance sheet showed a deficit of £l3 on the year’s working. The following officers were elected: Patron. Mr. J. Mahoney; president, Mr. J. Brown; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. T. Eccleton, G. Sweetman, T. E. Palmer; hon. auditor, Mr. W. E. Hookey; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. Jamieson; Management Committee, Messrs. A. S. Cliffe, J. Courtenay, A. Ryburn. H. O. Cooney, H. Cuff, W. Berquist, P. Kirikau, J. E. Alexander and H. E. Butcher. A meeting of the committee was held immediately after the general meeting, when matters affecting the union’s welfare were discussed. Messrs. A. S. Cliffe, H. Cuff and the president were appointed delegates to the Bay of Plenty Rugby Union meeting at Whakatane on April 5.
