CRUISE TO KAWAU

YACHT SQUADRON EVENT TOMORROW’S RACING A. general handicap for keel yachts to Kawau will be held by the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron tomorrow. The race will start on the Mark Fov system, the limit boat going at 1.30. The handicaps will be declared tomorrow morning. In the event of the weather being very light, the destination of the race may be changed. The times at Kawau will be taken by Mr. C. H. T. Palmer and the starting arrangements will be carried out by Messrs- B. W. Beaumont, A. M. Gilmour and G. D. Deery. Entries are as follow: —Thelma, lorangi. Kotuku, Waitangi, Ariki Rawene, Kotiri, Rangi, Scout, Wairiki DEVONPORT YACHT CLUB ENTRIES AND HANDICAPS The Devonport Yacht Club’s second sailing fixture of the season is scheduled for tomorrow, with a cruising race for H, L and N classes to Matiatia and harbour races for M, T and Star classes. Owing to the difficulty of racing the keelers in conjunction with the Squadron’s race to Kawau, when the Mark Foy syswm is in operation, the Devonport Club has no race for this class, but will arrange one later. The handicaps and courses are: H, L and N Classes, starting at 2.30 p m. The course is from the startling line between Victoria Wharf and a mark moored south, thence to Matiatia, observing Sandspit beacon and keeping outside Rangitoto and Motutapu. Entries are: Starlock, on wind scr, off wind ser: Omatere, 5m and 1m; Awatere, 6m and Cm; Rakoa, 7m and 8m; Why Not, 10m and 9m. M Class, to start at 2.40 p.m. The course is from the starting line, thence round Sandspit, thence round Resolution buoy, thence round mark off Stanley Bay, twice round, finishing at starting line. Entries: Mara tea, Maroro, Matarere, Mawhiti, Manene, Manu 11. T Class, starting at 2.50; same course as for M class: Shalimar, scr; Ramona, 2rn; Resolute, 7m. Star Class, to start 3 p.m.; course gs for T class: Maid Marion, Moa and June. Mr. W. A. Wilkinson will be starter and timekeeper. MANUKAU CRUISING CLUB RACES TO CORNWALLIS Cruising races for yachts and launches to Cornwallis will form the Manukau Cruising Club’s programme tomorrow*. The start, which will be flying in both races, will be on No. 2 course. Yachts will leave at 2.45 and launches at 3. The finishing timelimit is sunset.
