WAITEMATA DRAINAGE
CITY TAKES OVER AREA Accepting a recommendation from the Finance Committee, the City Council last evening agreed to take over its proportion of the assets and the liabilities of the Waiatarua Drainage Board, in accordance with the portion of the board’s district now within the boundaries of the city. An agreement is to be executed to give effect to this decision, under the Land Drainage Amendment Act. The details of the apportionment are to be subject to the approval of the subcomr. .ittee formed by the Mayor, Mr. G. Baildon, Cr. A. J. Entrican, as chairman of the committee, Cr. J. Dempsey and Cr. J. Paterson. A resolution passed by the Waiatarua Drainage Board, asking the council to take over the area concerned and to adjust details, had been submitted to the committee.
