SPORTS HELD BY BUSINESS HOUSE funds for staff girls The staff of the Farmers’ Trading romp* lll -’ Limited, he.d the first competitive swimming carnival of an Auckland business house at the Tepid Baths last evening. The aim of the carnival was to gather funds to buj equipment to enable girls of the staff to e nter in the interhousc -ports. Mr. s H. Chamberlain, manager of the firm’s London house, had given a silver cup, which was won by the office department, with 54 points. The drapery department was second with 23 points. MOUNT EDEN’S EVENT Nominations for the events to be conducted at Alount Eden baths, Bellevue Road, next Tuesday evening by the Alt. Eden Swimming Club close on Saturday at the Tepid Baths. It will be the club’s third carnival of the season. There will be an interclub relay for the President’s Cup. Other races will be a 50yds inter-club handicap, a quarter-mile race for the Oucksey Cup. a dual relay, women’s, boys’ and girls’ sprints, primary school events for the Nicholson and the Stevenson shields and a 100yds breaststroko race.
