GRASS TRACK RACING

MOTOR-CYCLING AT TAKAPUNA A big event of the motor-cycle racing year in Auckland will be staged at the grass track meeting on the Takapuna racecourse on Saturday. The best of New Zealand’s turf speedstefs, numbering 20, will participate in the contests. Most prominent is the veteran Percy Coleman, the world’s champion heavy-weight rider, who has thrilled spectators on the same course on many occasions. It will be his last appearance before leaving New Zealand to compete in the famous T.T. reliability contests on the Isle of Man. Another prominent competitor will be Reg. Ranby, who holds the New* Zealand middle-weight grass-track championship, T. Morgan and B. Bray, who are also familiar to the Auckland public will also be riding. The track is reported to be in good condition, and with good entries the contests should be extremely interestir^r.
