STREAMS TO BE BRIDGED
OPOTIKI-GISBORNE ROAD From Our Own Correspondent OPOTIKI, Wednesday. That there is every prospect of the remaining nnbridged streams on the Opotiki-Gisborne main highway being bridged during the coming financial year, should prove a pleasing announcement to motorists. The work comprises of building three bridges over the Otoko stream about 30 miles from Gisborne. The Main Highways Board is prepared to proceed with the work immediately negotiations are concluded with the Waikohu County Council. The Otoko crossings which are very rocky have been a source of trouble to motorists for many years, although' the stream falls very quickly after floods, and traffic is not held up very long.
