LICENCE CANCELLED

MAU SOLICITOR TO APPEAL RELEASED ON BAIL Mr. T. B. Slipper, barrister and solicitor of Apia, Samoa, who was recently released on bail after having been sentenced to three months’ imprisonment on a charge of making an alleged defamatory libel against the Administrator of Western Samoa, Mr. S. S. Allen, has been granted leave to appeal to "the Appeal Court at Wellington. The papers in connection with the appeal will arrive by the Tofua on Monday. Mr. Slipper was released last Monday on one surety of £2OO. His licence to practise as a solicitor in Samoa has been cancelled by the Administrator and Mr. Slipper is now contesting the matter in the High Court. He liad no opportunity to contest the cancellation of his licence previously as he was in gaol.
