SHOES
Evening shoes, having passed j through the over-elaborated phase, j now revert to two expressions of simplicity. The present tendency is to dye the plain satin or marocain opera j pump the exact shade of the frock and to depend upon the jewelled j buckle for Its ornament. Another mode introduces fine out- ! lines of gold or silver kid as a trim- j ming on this slipper, including the j lower line of the heel. A reversion to a plain black slipper j is very general for wear with black , evening gowns, but the note of decora- I tive detail enters with the stra.ss | buckle posed at the outer side, or discreet heel incrustations.
