Charged with obtaining .£2O from James Edward Hoffman bv means of false pretences, representing that he had £2OO to his credit in tho Farmers’ Trading Company’s bank in Auckland, Robert Simms, aged 60, appeared before Justices of the Peace at Hamilton today. He was remanded until March 14.' It was explained that accused was arrested yesterday and a number of other charges were pending against him, involving a sum of £232.
