DOUBLE WEDDING
INTERESTING CEREMONY AT KAIPARA FLATS ' j NORDSTRAND —SIMPSON DAVIES—SIMPSON A double wedding of interest was celebrated at Kaipara Flats re- j cently, when Lilian, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Simpson, was married to Mr. C. J. Nordstrand, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Nordstrand. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a beautiful gown of white satin beaute, with a threetiered frilled skirt, and a tight-fitting bodice. She wore a beautiful silverworked veil, silver shoes and stockings*, and she carried an exquisite bouquet of dahlias, sweet peas, and asparagus fern. She was supported by her sister, Miss Evelyn Simpson, as bridesmaid, in a charming frock, of-white silk lace, with the skirt falling in points to an uneven hemline. She carired a bouquet of sweet peas and asparagus, with silver streamers. Mr. J. Simpson, brother of the bride, was best man. The second bri.de. Beryl, sister of the former bride, and eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Simpson, was married to Mr. J. Davies, of Auckland. Given away by her father, the bride was gowned in a frock of white satin beaute, the skirt being two-tiered, with sprigs of orange blossom. A long veil embroidered in silver, was worn. She carried a bouquet of cream and pink dahlias. Miss Kathleen Howard, who was bridesmaid, wore a frock of powder blue georgette with silver and gold spotted bodice, and handkerchief draped over skirt. She wore a bankok hat of pearl colour, with shoes, stockings and gloves to match, and her bouquet of blue asters toned with her frock. Mr. R. Davies, the groom’s brother, was best man. Mr. Davies presided at the organ, and played the “Wedding March.” After the honeymoon Mr. and Mrs. J. Davies will reside in Auckland. Later a reception - was held at the home of the bride’s parents. Mrs. Simpson received her guests wearing a frock of peacock.blue. Mr. J. Nordstrand wore a frock of fawn crepe de chine, relieved with blue, and hat to match. Mrs. Dunn was wearing a coral georgette frock, with cape of cream georgette, and crinoline hat to match. AN ENGAGEMENT The engagement is announced of Elsie May, only daughter of Mr. and Mil's. Walter Waltelin, Whau Valley, Whangarei, to Robert, only son of Mr. and Mrs. R. McDonald, of Ruatangata I East, Whangarei.
