"LIDO LADY”
BRIGHT MUSICAL COMEDY The gay Lido is always a popular theme with musical comedy writers. In addition to bright scenery it provides opportunity for bare backs and bathing beauties. “Lido Lady,” the musical comedy now playing at His Majesty’s, follows the usual run of musical comedy stories. The plot is not very deep, but is sufficient to take the action through a variety of scenes with the Lido as the principal background. The music is bright and catchy, an outstanding feature of the performance being the singing of the Big Four, which was warmly applauded. “Lido Lady” will be followed by “Archie,” “Sunny,” “Kellie Kelly,” and several other entertaining musical comedies. A 1 Jolson, switching from Warner Brothers at the completion of his present contract with them, will be the star of George M. Cohan’s first film, to be based on an original story that Mr. Cohan will write, direct and produce in Hollywood beginning in April. Mr. Cohan also will compose songs for Mr. Jolsori’s first United Artists picture.
