PRINCE EDWARD
“The Canary Murder Case,” a murder mystery-thriller, complete with dialogue, is now being presented at the Prince Edward Theatre. The story concerns the efforts of Philo Vance, amateur detective, played by William Powell, to decide which of nine suspects was really the murderer of a New York chorus-girl. The splendid cast includes Jean Arthur, Louise Brooks, Charles Lane, and many others. Excellent supporting items will also be shown. Roland Young has been chosen by Cecil B. De Mille as the first ot’ the players who will make up the cast for “Madame Satan.’ Since joining Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Young has appeared in “Unholy Night,” “Wise Girls” and “The Bishop Murder Case.” When Raoul W'alsh cast Polly Moran in ‘Hot For Paris,” he cast her as “Polly,” and advised her to be herself, saying that no matter what characterisation was written for her, it could not be as funny as the real “Polly.” She is one of the few women to gain this distinction from Walsh.
