PRESBYTERIAN ASSEMBLY’S APPOINTMENTS SOCIAL SERVICE AGENT Press Association DUNEDIN, Today. At the Presbyterian Assembly today the following were granted the status of minister emeritus: The Revs. Wallier (Hawke’s Bay). W. Trotter (Dunedin). Sangster (Oaraaru), and Day, Shirer and Stevenson (Wellington). The Rev. Halliday was given a seat in the Auckland Presbytery as agent for social service. It was decided to .•send to the Presbyteries the following remit: “In future only ministers who have served as ordained ministers for 20 years or in combined service as home missionary and ordained minister for that period, will be eligible for the status of minister emeritus with a seat in the Church Courts.” The Assembly refused to agree to a Mataura overture desiring a return to June 30 as the end of the Church Year.
